The first round of the championship saw the likes of the Loyalist Lancers, the Kingston St. Lawrence Vikings, the Peterborough Fleming Knights and the Oakville Sheridan Bruins all gracing the pitch. However, a handful of the big names are on the wrong side of the draw. Even the Loyalists may not have gotten to the top of the scoreboards in its early stages.
In terms of the most coveted trophy, the top honours go to the man who's name is emblazoned on the top of the Loyalists's shirt. That man is former Leinster stalwart James Lowe, and he has a ton of points on his mantle.

Other than a fight with the winger, there was a few noteworthy performances by the region's top guns. Particularly, the Loyalists’ scout hat is a sight to see. However, it is not one that is for the faint of hearts. It is not a home run but it is an impressive feat for this team.
The Loyalists new entrant did not have many missteps. Britt Whiting's stunning score and Christine Vandertoorn’s incredible score are two of the highlights. Amanda Blair's display was undoubtedly the best. Although Blair was awarded the OCAA female rugby player-of-the week award, the best part of the day was her kicking game. Blair took advantage the icy wind and kicked three penalty kicks. She also won the player award for the week.
There were plenty of remarkable feats found in the OCAA men's or women's leagues. While it is not uncommon to find teams with names like "Jackson" and "Jake", these names may be better left in the shadows. The injury to George North and George Davidson forced the team to skip Round 2. Meanwhile, Geoff Farrar and Gabe Davidson remained home for the win. The Vikings and Lancers both won. Their names are still unknown for the other contenders.
But, the OCAA's men's leagues are a different story. Although the reigning champs are in the midst of a losing streak, the Vikings and Lancers have shown the OCAA that they are no longer confined to Kingston. They've made some significant moves, as evidenced by the scores they've racked up this season. With just a few rounds to go, they still have the chance of securing a top-four finish. If they can keep their heads above water, they'll return to the winners' circle when they reach next year's finals.

It's safe to assume the other OCAA male league contenders will be vying for the title.
